Digital Gallery: Call for Art

During a time of social isolation where we are physically unable to present artwork in galleries or community spaces, many people are using the affordances of the internet to create digital platforms and showcase art of various mediums to large audiences. This is exactly what UW Madison Journalism and Graphic Design student, Genevieve Vahl, is doing with her digital gallery titled "Creative Coping."

According to Genevieve, "this is a call for art in any medium - from painting, digital design, audio, or visual pieces to written works. I am curating this digital gallery to showcase the creative outlets people have turned to in quarantine, specifically to see how people have used artistic creativity to escape from the scary reality we live in right now. So far, I have received works from acquaintances, good friends, and strangers. I hope with this project to gain and share a more nuanced visual understanding of how people have been creatively coping during this pandemic."

If you’re interested in having your artwork showcased in this digital gallery, email your submissions to vahl@wisc.edu by April 25th, 2020.
